Cusco (1) - Camino Inca (2)

Day 1: Cusco- KM 82/Huayllabamba o Lluncachimpa (6 hrs).
We begin the most exciting adventure through the Andes, the Inca Trail, an extraordinary and unforgettable hike that will take you through the most incredible and picturesque places, as well as knowing the magnificent architectural legacy that we have inherited from the Incas. The tour begins by transporting us by bus to kilometer 82 of the railway line (2550 masl), the starting point of the walk; After some final coordination we begin the journey up the mountain to the towns of Miskay or Llactapata where we will have our first lunch; We will visit the Llactapata complex and then the Huayllabamba community (3100 meters above sea level). We continue with the last section of the ascent to the Lluncachimpa or Huayllabamba camp (3300 masl) to have a nice dinner.

Day 2: Lluncachimpa/Llulluchapampa/Pacaymayu/Chaquicocha (7 hrs).
Wake up early and witness one of the most beautiful shows of the journey, admire a beautiful Andean sunrise from our camp, then resume the tour through the Lluncachimpa valley (3300 masl), continue the ascent to Llulluchapampa (3850 masl) and get an impressive panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and architectural remains at the Warmihuañusca pass (4200 meters above sea level), the highest point of the route.
After a short rest we will descend to the Pacaymayu valley (3500 masl) and then ascend again to the Runcuracay pass (3950 masl), from this point another descent begins in which we will visit the Archaeological complex of Sayacmarca, finally we will arrive at our second camp located in Chaquicocha (3650 masl).

Day 3: Chaquicocha/Wiñayhuayna (7 hrs).
This Day is the smoothest part of the walk, our tour will be in the middle of hot tropical forests known as Yunga where we can observe imposing landscapes, as well as important archaeological groups along the way; We will visit the archaeological complexes of Phuyupatamarca (3600msnm) and Wiñayhuayna (2650msnm), place of our last camp.

Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu/Cusco (5 hrs).
Very early in the morning, still under the light of the stars and flashlight in hand (4:30 hrs), we resume our path towards Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol (2780 masl), a place from where we can contemplate the sunrise about Machu Picchu, simply a breathtaking spectacle; later we will descend to Machu Picchu (2400 masl) to have our guided tour of the citadel. Enjoy a short free time, take magnificent photographs and then descend to the town of Aguas Calientes to take your train back to Cusco. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

The Inca Trail includes:

  • Transportation by bus and train Cusco / Km 82 – Machu Picchu / Cusco.

  • Cook, assistant and porters for the camping equipment and food.
  • Camping equipment for collaborators.
  • Entrance to the Inca Trail and Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
  • Bus down to Aguas Calientes.
  • First aid and oxygen briefcase.

The Inca Trail does not include:

  • Lunch in the town of Aguas Calientes (4th day).
  • Sleeping bag.
  • Extra carrier.
  • Life insurance against accidents or any other type of insurance.
  • Additional nights due to bad weather.
  • Personal care items.
  • Air tickets and taxes.
  • Food not mentioned in the program.

Notes: Services include transportation, entrance fees and regular service guide (English or Spanish).

Observations:
Inca Trail closed in February.Extra carrier can carry a maximum of 15 kilos and accompanies the group only until the 3rd day.
