Chiclayo

Early in the morning we will travel to Chongoyape to begin our visit to the Chaparri Reserve. The Chaparri Private Conservation Area has an area of 34,412 hectares and includes several villages or towns. Here we will be able to appreciate several animal species such as the white-winged guan, bears, foxes, guanacos, Andean condor and deer; in addition to approximately 223 species of birds. We will visit its interpretation center, the Spectacled Bear Rescue Center, the serpentarium and the Cerro Chaparri mountain.

We have three routes available:

  1. a) The Bear Route. – It is approximately 1,200m long (round trip) and lasts approximately 1 hour. It is recommended for children, older adults or people with some type of physical impediment.
  2. b) The Huachuma Route. – It is the most popular and requested. It consists of a gentle hike with a total distance of 1,600 meters and a duration of approximately 2 hours.
  3. c) The Pavas Route. – A slightly longer and more energetic hike, for people in better physical condition, recommended for birdwatchers. It could last between 3 to 4 hours in a 6 Km. round trip.
